Frequently asked questions
What time should we arrive?
You should plan to arrive 10 minutes early to your designated time slot.
Because of the nature of Spring Mini-sessons, you will only have 20 minutes
with me, and I would hate for you to have even less than that amount of
time and feel rushed. Aim to be early, and you'll be ready to go when your
session time starts!
If you have a child under 1 year old. I suggest bringing a small blanket.
What should we wear?
I highly recommend wearing clothing that makes you feel great!
If you have a favorite sweater, dress, or outfit that make you feel like a million bucks, start with that and go from there!
Remember that it may be CHILLY - be prepared with layers. Cardigans, jackets, and tights are all great layering tools and can add to your look. The great thing about mini sessions is that you won't have to stay out in the cold very long!
Ladies- if you are thinking of wearing heels, make sure you can walk in the grass. Wide heels are preferable to thin ones.
Coordinating with family members is always a good idea. The best idea is to stay in the same color scheme of 3-4 colors. When in doubt, pick neutral colors or earth tones. Here are some great inspiration boards for families.
Will I have time to change clothes?
Most likely not. You'll only have 20 minutes and you won't want to waste any of that time changing clothes. If you think you'll need more time, you can book two mini sessions back to back or book a Full hour session on another date.
When will I receive my photos?
You will receive your online gallery preview within 10 days. When you see your preview, you'll have 24 hours to choose a collection. Collection A is the standard mini (5 digital images and $25 print credit) or you can upgrade to Collection B (20 digital images and $75 print credit for $200) or Collection C (All digital images and $200 print credit for $450). Once you choose your collection you'll have 14 days to download your images and use your print credit.
MOST IMPORTANTLY! Remember to have fun!!!
I try to remind my clients that children between 1 and 3 years old most likely will not sit still and smile for photos. We will be running, spinning, jumping and chasing these little ones around.
The best photographs in my opinion are of genuine laughter with family members. If you have small children, bring a favorite toy or better yet, brainstorm what makes your kids laugh- is it a song? A silly face that you make or a fun game that we could perhaps do during the shoot (hide and seek/ simon says, etc.) Getting REAL smiles is always a task, so why not have some ACTUAL FUN instead of pretending! And when all else fails IT'S TICKLE TIME!!!
What if it rains?
We will stay in touch the day before the shoot and if it looks like rain or if it's too cold, we will reschedule.
