One of the greatest honors as a photographer is watching families grow through the years—and the Lai family is a perfect example of why I love what I do.


I have had the privilege of photographing their family for over four years now (since their first was just a wee baby), and each time we meet, I’m reminded how special it is to document these fleeting seasons of childhood. From tiny milestones to the everyday connections that become the memories we hold onto, it has been such a joy to preserve their story year after year.


For their most recent fall family session, we met at one of my favorite New York City locations—Brooklyn Bridge Park. With the iconic Manhattan skyline, the beautiful waterfront, and the warm glow of autumn light, it was the perfect setting for their family portraits.
